Create a Linux Virtual Machine on SvHCI

Scenario

This document details the configuration of a Linux virtual machine on StorMagic SvHCI.

Before beginning, upload the operating system installation ISO as described in the following Knowledge Base article.

Create the Linux Virtual Machine

Select Virtual Machine from the navigation menu.

Select the Virtual Machine menu.

Define the desired virtual machine configuration including:

Name
Protected (Highly Available)
Preferred Host and Other Host
Memory
CPUs
Keyboard Map

Configure the virtual machine settings.

Select Add CDROM and choose the previously uploaded operating system installation ISO.

Attach the operating system installation ISO.

Add a virtual network interface and select the appropriate port group for the virtual machine.

Configure the virtual network adapter.

Add a virtual disk. This virtual disk will be mirrored between the nodes and will contain the guest operating system file system. Ensure the correct storage pool is selected.

Configure the virtual disk.
