SvHCI - Rebuild SvHCI ISO With an ISO Answer File

This example uses a tool called xorriso that can be added to Ubuntu using the standard apt repositories:

sudo apt install xorriso -y

The answer file utilizes YAML. An example is included in the SvHCI documentation:

Create an Answer File 

An example answer file is shown below:

installation:

From a folder containing both the SvHCI ISO and the answer file, run the following command:

xorriso -dev ./cdrom.iso -boot_image any keep -map ./af.yaml /etc/answerfile.yaml --

Example:

root@mchristie-Ubuntu:/home/mchristie/Downloads/svhci-2-4-0_iso# xorriso -dev ./stormagic-svhci-6.7.U1.55194-cdrom.iso -boot_image any keep -map ./answerfile.yaml /etc/answerfile.yaml --

After modifying the ISO, mount it using your server's remote management interface (iLO, iDRAC, XCC, CIMC, etc.) or create a bootable USB using the guide below:

SvHCI - Create a Bootable USB Installer Disk with Rufus 

Begin the installation. Currently an Enter key press is required to select Manual Install.

After Manual Install has been selected, the installation proceeds automatically using the embedded answer file.

Installation complete.

Once completed, the system automatically reboots because the answer file does not specify the power off option. The host then starts using the configured settings.
