Configure an SvHCI 2-Node Cluster

Configure two SvHCI nodes into a cluster using the StorMagic lightweight, sharable Witness appliance.

Scenario

This document details the Discovery Service, adding a static discovery entry for the Witness (if it is not automatically discovered), and pairing two SvHCI nodes into a 2-node cluster using a sharable Witness.

Prerequisite: Deploy and configure the Witness appliance before creating the cluster.

Configure Discovery

StorMagic Discovery is used by SvHCI nodes and Witness appliances to locate one another on the network.

Additional information is available in the following documentation:

If the Witness resides on a different subnet and is not automatically discovered, add a static Discovery entry on both SvHCI nodes.

Join the Nodes into a Cluster

From the Discovery page, select Join.

Join Cluster

Select the partner SvHCI node together with the Witness appliance that will provide quorum for the new cluster.

Once the operation completes successfully, the clustered SvHCI nodes are displayed within the Discovery page.

Complete: The two SvHCI nodes are now configured as a highly available cluster using the selected Witness appliance.
